CIA Wants a Different Saudi Dictator, Russia Warns US Not to Meddle

Russia and the CIA support different dictators in Saudi Arabia. Russia has showed support for Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) warning the US not to meddle in Saudi decisions and try to influence which prince will inherit the Saudi royal throne after King Salman dies.

The US, at one time showed support for the prince, MBS, with prominent US political minds doing the rounds of cable news, doing interviews extolling the virtues of the new prince, as some kind of savior for the backward kingdom, now political support has swiftly changed to oppose him. Senator Lindsey Graham has described Prince bin Salman as “dangerous” and “crazy.” Former head of the CIA John Brennan said “ if it’s Mohammed bin Salman who’s the cancer here, well, we need to be able to find ways to eliminate the cancer.”

Russia is worried the CIA and the US might back another heir to the Saudi throne like King Salman’s brother, Prince Ahmed. US officials have indicated that they would support Prince Ahmed as a replacement for Prince bin Salman.

Mikhail Bogdanov, deputy foreign minister of Russia said “The King made a decision and I can’t even imagine on what grounds someone in America will interfere in such an issue and think about who should rule Saudi Arabia, now or in the future. This is a Saudi matter.”
