Workers with a California healthcare union gathered to voice their disapproval as 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden attended a fundraiser at the Los Angeles home of a Kaiser Foundation board member.
The National Union of Healthcare Workers is in a years-long fight with Kaiser over mental health staffing levels in California facilities.
“Kaiser, Kaiser, you can’t hide, we can see your greedy side!” union members chanted outside.
Union mental health workers protested for new contracts outside a Kaiser Permanente board member’s home who was hosting the Biden fundraiser.
Contributions at the event ranged from $250 a person to $2,800, the maximum donation for an individual in a presidential primary.
