25 Percent of People in the US Don’t Think Humanity Will Survive Next 100 Years

According to a recent poll, 25 percent of people in the US do not think humanity will survive the next hundred years.

The general trend is for older people to be less optimistic about humanity’s future. 32% of people over 65 think humanity won’t survive the next century, while only 7% of people 18-24 think we won’t make it.

Forty percent of the people who thought humanity would not survive also thought the US would go to war with China in the next 50 years, more than twice as many as among the people who thought humanity would survive.

On a somewhat optimistic note, 34% of the people who thought humanity will survive also thought it was at least “somewhat likely” that Trump would use nuclear weapons.

More than half, 57% of people who thought humanity would not survive, thought it was “somewhat likely” that Trump would use nuclear weapons.
