Customs and Border Protection announced Monday that two more detained migrants have died. Three migrants have now died this week while in US government custody.
A 40-year-old Honduran woman died Monday, shortly after being arrested near the border in Texas.
On Sunday, a 33-year-old man from El Salvador died after experiencing apparent seizures following his arrest.
The two latest deaths follow that of Johana Medina, a 25-year-old transgender Salvadoran woman who died on Saturday after seeking medical treatment for more than two months for complications related to HIV/AIDS.
In addition to these deaths, at least six migrant children have died over the last eight months after they were arrested crossing into the US.
