India’s Six Largest City Is Almost Out of Water

India’s sixth-largest city, Chennai, faces severe water shortages as its four main reservoirs have run dry.

The 4.9 million residents of Chennai have been suffering from severe water shortages for weeks.

The entire region is in the midst of a heatwave, making the situation all the more dire, with temperatures soaring above 100 degrees fahrenheit, well over the average temperature for this time of year.
